A new anime series based on Ghost of Tsushima’s coop multiplayer mode is coming soon in a collaborative production effort between Sony, Crunchyroll, and Aniplex, the studio behind Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Solo Leveling, and Sword Art Online. The announcement was made as part of Sony Group Corporation’s CES press conference in Las Vegas.
The series will be called Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, similar to the Legends game mode from the award-winning video game, which is inspired by Japanese mythology and folk tales. The adaptation will be directed by Takanobu Mizuno and Gen Urobuchi of NITRO PLUS taking care of the Story Composition and KAMIKAZE DOUGA leading animation.
Together, the team will bring Ghost of Tsushima: Legends’ traditional samurai aesthetics to life with cinematic storytelling and striking visuals. Sony Music will serve as the strategic music and soundtrack partner for the series.
There’s still a long wait before fans can watch the Ghost of Tsushima anime, launching way after developers Sucker Punch releases this year’s sequel, Ghost of Yotei. The series will premiere exclusively on Crunchyroll in 2027. More details, including the creative team and cast, will be revealed in the future.
