Ubisoft announced a new Might and Magic game, developed by Ubisoft Paris in partnership with Immutable, the company known for Web3 games. The upcoming mobile and PC game will be a trading card game believed by fans to have Web3 and NFT aspects, set to release Winter 2025.
Might and Magic Fates, the title of the new game, had an official teaser revealed by Ubisoft. The trading card game will be free-to-play, played between two players online, and will involve hundred of collectible cards based on the Might and Magic universe.
While the news that a new game based on the long-running franchise excited fans, based on the Youtube video’s comments, many of the fans were deflated by the game’s apparent Web3 and NFT components. Fans also decried the lack of gameplay footage in the game’s official teaser video.
Another game produced within the expanded Might and Magic universe, Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era, is due to be released later this year, will also be published by Ubisoft, albeit developed by Unfrozen Studios. Unlike Might and Magic Fates, Olden Era has so far received a positive response from fans and the community thanks to Unfrozen’s ability to replicate the feel of the classic titles Heroes III, Heroes IV, and Heroes V in their version of the game.
