Running it back from where it all began, Ubisoft announced that Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 will receive the Battle for Brooklyn DLC, launching next month on May 27. The DLC release will be arriving alongside a new season, which means The Division fans have a lot to look forward to in terms of content and updates.
Players will visit post-pandemic New York during the fall for the first time and explore Brooklyn neighborhoods of Brooklyn Heights and Dumbo in this DLC. In contrast to the Manhattan area, where hostile factions violently fight each other, Brooklyn has been relatively peaceful, with civilians working together, thriving under the circumstances. However, the Cleaners and Rikers are now threatening this peace, as their impending arrival puts Brooklyn under its crosshairs.
The DLC will feature a linear campaign for Battle for Brooklyn, which they can play either solo or in co-op. During this campaign, players will need to find out how the Cleaners are mass-producing Purple Flame in order to save the civilians from its attacks.
The DLC will also feature new unlockable skills for use everywhere else in The Division 2, including the return of Smart Cover from the first game, which enables players to reinforce cover, gain offensive and defensive buffs, and enhance pulse resistance for all allies. Available exclusively to DLC owners, the Catalyst Exotic Mask will be helpful against the Cleaners, thanks to its bonuses for dealing status effect damage and mitigating incoming status effect damage.
Ubisoft also shared their three main goals for The Division 2 Year 7 : (1) improving the onboarding process for new players, (2) adding more depth to the endgame, and (3) solidifying seasons as a cornerstone of The Division 2 experience. Players can expect new events, updated modifiers, gear, and gameplay that will work towards these three goals.
The DLC will be available with purchases of The Division 2 Gold or The Division 2 Ultimate editions. Both editions include the standard game, the Warlords of New York expansion, 50 stash space slots, and a level 40 boost, allowing players to dive into the Battle for Brooklyn campaign right at launch. The Ultimate edition additionally includes 1000 Bonus Premium Credits and the Year 1 Pass, unlocking endgame specializations, exclusive missions, and more.
