New Agents, outfits, game modes, arcade games, fishing, and a fashion show simultaneously arrive in the Zenless Zone Zero version 1.5 update, “Astra-nomical Moment,” out now on all platforms.
The latest update sees the arrival of the new Agent Astra Yao alongside new outfits for Agents which they can use to dress them up for the upcoming fashion show this month. Events and storylines involving Astra Yao and centering on Starloop will be available for players to enjoy this season, celebrating the Lunar New Year with festive rewards.
The new S-Rank Agent Astra Yao can enter the Idyllic Cadenza state, providing a damage bonus to the entire squad. Even when switching out, she remains on the battlefield like a support bard to continue buffing her teammates. She is the first healing character in the game, with her Ultimate restoring HP to the entire squad while also dealing damage to the enemies.
New S-Rank Agent Evelyn is a Fire Attack Agent whose attacks generate Burning Tether Point which she can use to unleash Chain Attacks on her own. Using her Ultimate activates Dance of Awakened Fire. After activating the Ultimate for the first time, it will change the Ultimate’s animation in subsequent uses, marking the first time we have dynamic Ultimate animations in Zenless Zone Zero.
A new S-Rank Bangboo also arrives in New Eridu called Snap. The Bangboo captures exhilarating moments of combat using its camera for Proxies.
As for the rotational banner, Ellen and Qingyi both return as obtainable S-Rank Agents when players pull for their banner.
New gameplay features including The Endless Tower: The Last Stand” and “Perpetrator Battle” also debut in this update, which arrived on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. In the Simulated Battle Trial players can access the Endless Tower: The Last Stand, where they will ascend in phases of 10 floors with specific combat effects. In Perpetrator Battle, accessed through Hollow Zero, where players need to use designated Agents, exclusive gear, and Resonia.
Content for both the Shiyu Defense and Deadly Assault game modes will also be rotated to give players a variation on their combat experience.
Outside of combat, players can also enjoy new lifestyle gameplay content like fishing and fashion shows. Players can use the aforementioned new costumes to dress up their favorite Agents. Players can do the “Ridu’s Got Boo” Bangboo pageant event during “The Day of Brilliant Wishes” to unlock various rewards, including a new outfit for Nicole. Meanwhile, players can also test their fishing skills in the Elpis Ultimate Angler Championship for exclusive rewards.
Zenless Zone Zero’s upgraded version also arrives on the PlayStation 5 Pro with this new update, and further improvements and optimizations were made on existing platforms on Android, iOS, PC, and the standard PS5.
